Brett Howerton begin working with wood in grade school. He made fishing lures with his dads' coping saw and sold them for extra money. He later acquired a wood lathe and begin turning wood. Brett is the son of a carpenter and his father taught him carpentry skills and basic cabinet skills. Brett worked with his father in their construction and carpentry business and worked with wood in his free time. In 1996, he sold his share of the business and built a large business solely for fine woodworking & milling.

With well over 30 years experience, Red Cedar Creations has grown into a successfull custom sawmill, dry kiln, and custom fine woodworking business.

Howerton does custom sawing, wood drying, commercial and residential cabinets, and caskets. Brett keeps an inventory of many kiln dried local exotic woods and some woods from Central & South America.
